Happy New Year (almost)

Right now I'm rocking some awesome clothing (as are Kristy and Bella), makeup, and a blond wig. Be prepared for awesomeness. These pictures will give me enjoyment for years and years to come.

Anyway, have a good night!

MERGH

Well, I'm getting a cold.

Thanks, KRISTY. >_>

I got sick at this time last year too, but that was much worse. And I was just starting school on the second full day of glory of my cold. That was pretty awesome.

I'm going to go acquire some tea.

Wow

So Grandma is getting a Pomeranian next Friday. Her name is Missy and she weighs 3 pounds and is 6 inches long, and also 5 years old. She had a Pomeranian named Gizmo before, but Gizmo weighed 14 pounds (she was a rather ahem. large dog however). I decided to do a little researching and I found the American Pomeranian Club Inc., which was established in 1900. Yes, people have been crazy about these fluffy little animals for 108 years. I LOVE the puppies, they are soooooo cute! I shall demonstrate, but first, a little background. Did you know that Pomeranians can be blue? THEY CAN. Did you know that they are originally from Iceland, but are named for the region Pomerania, which is now Germany and Poland? THEY ARE.

Anyway, puppies! Cute, cute, cute!!!

Ahem.

Stupid Dog...

I got back from Grandma's to a very happy Chato, after all.. We had left her by herself while we were gone. So I let Harry out of his kennel and what does he do? He brings me an Almond Roca wrapper. As if to say, "Hey! Look what Chato did while you were gone! Get her in trouble!" So I looked around and I found about FOUR other Almond Roca wrappers on the ground.

...

"CHATO....."

(Chato cowers)

So I showed her the wrappers and told her she was bad. (more cowering)

Then I put them out. So then... I found half of a poinsettia leaf laying on the couch and in case you didn't know.. Poinsettias are poisonous.

My word. That dog is going to DIE with her eating habits. She found the Almond Rocas on our dinner table, in a big bowl on candy... She crawled up on the table and got the candy.

*sigh*

Well, she seems fine now and it's been five hours, so don't worry, Kristy.. =P

Representatives of Stereotypes

On the last day of the Franklin Graham festival Mr. Graham had two family members speak. One was his brother, who lives here and the other was his cousin, who lives in South Carolina. Cracked me up. Franklin looked like a preacher with the nice shirt and tie. His brother looked like a stereotypical Northwesterner. His head was closely shaved and he had a few days of stubble happening. He was wearing a green jacket and khaki pants, I believe. The cousin, however, looked something like Mark Twain. Well, the hair at least, not the stache. But he was wearing a suit and he had big white hair that was slicked back.

It was pretty funny to see the stereotypes so plainly.

Merry Christmas

How was everyone's Christmas? Tell me about it!

Right now I'm wearing a fuzzy wuzzy french lavender robe from Land's End, which matches Mom's and Kristy's. Grandma gave them to us, and Ruth got a light blue one. And in my lap is a 7 pound chihuahua wearing a Christmas sweater. He's observing the room by looking over my shoulder.

The most original gift I received was the bracelet Kristy gave me which has the 10 commandments on it. Yeah, all ten. It's pretty funny. Mom and Dad gave me a set of CS Lewis books. I'm pretty psyched.

Now Harry is rooting about looking for more chocolate to binge on. This morning I removed a chocolate kiss from his mouth. He's going to be SICK. lol.

I'm back, I just took little princess outside to go to the bathroom. It's pretty wet outside and he didn't want to get his feet wet, so I had to go out and make sure he actually went to the bathroom.

Now he's back to scavenging for food. It's funny to see how he acts without Chato.

Anyway. I also got a bag with a picture of a woman with cat ears from Ruth. It's pretty cool. John got me stationary, a lamp, and other things from Japan. And I got other stuff but that's all I'm going to talk about. I'm so tired right now, not even kidding.

Christmas

I am now in Isaiah in my chronological journey through the Bible. I spent some more time on chapter 53 and I looked into what His actions were and why He did those things. It was a good reminder. He died for my issues, for your issues... Everyone's issues.

For your Maker is your husband—
the LORD Almighty is his name—
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;
he is called the God of all the earth.
Isaiah 54:5
His actions.... because of my issues
Took up- infirmities
Carried- sorrows
Pierced- transgressions
Crushed for- iniquities
Bore-sin

Because of what He did he justified many and made intercession for us.

He deserves all our praises, think about that as you celebrate with your family.

POLYSICS

You should check them out.

They're pretty tight.

Random worthless information. Sooo.. Why am I even posting? Because Kristy told me to. That's why.

I bought a new journal today. You would think that a journal would have enough pages to cover a year's worth of thoughts, right? NO. Obviously not. In my search for the perfect journal there have been none that have enough for a year's worth of thoughts. Usually less and sometimes there will be journals with like 400 pages or something. Anyway. I bought one. It has 300 pages, so that amounts to 600 day's worth of thoughts. I know, I know... It doesn't have 366 exactly, but it's ADORABLE.

It makes me happy. So, when I finally finish this one that I'm using (which will be around June or May) I will use my new and pretty one. It is very fabulous. The illustrations on the front and back are adapted from Little Nemo in Slumberland, which is a comic I believe. Anyway.

It has a blue velour spine, and on the front and back it is red. Nemo is feeding an elephant a peanut and it says diary underneath with the fancy sliver swirls around it. On the back Nemo is walking his dog. And the diary is tied together by a bright yellow ribbon. The whole diary is quite fabulous and adorable and I loves it, even if it has 600 sides of paper.

So there.

This is how we roll

Tonight was the annual youth group Christmas party and we ALWAYS have a white elephant gift exchange. So Josiah brought goldfish. Real. Live. Goldfish. And Tommy was TOTALLY surprised, as you can see.
Micah decided to steal them, but Tommy was very hesitant to give them up.
Triumph!
And finally they were safe with Sarah. She will care for them and make sure that they live longer than they would with those guys, so yeah. It was pretty fun.

(In other news JOHN IS COMING HOME TOMORROW MORNING, IN FACT I SHOULD GO TO BED NOW BECAUSE WE'RE LEAVING AT 6:50am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccck!!!!!!!!!!!)

arg

Sometimes it hurts to be alive. I did yoga last night and Max was bored so he was running around me and trying to distract me. It was pretty funny. There I was... Trying to relax. I ended up laughing though, and then he got bored and left me alone.

So today I'm sore and I guess doing yoga with Max is MORE of a workout than when I do it by myself. I'm so sore that it hurts to steer the car and to put on the e-brake.

Yeah, I'm THAT sore. It's kind of nice though.

HA HA!

I WIN I WIN I WIN I WIN I WIN.

I HAVE THE PHYSICAL SUPERIORITY TO BOTH OF MY SISTERS.

HA HA HA!

iwiniwiniwiniwiniwin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristy is like 5'6'' or something and Ruth and I just had a contest to see who is taller. ME! I'M TALLER! I WIN!

She's 5'8'' an like 2/16 and I(!!!) am 5'8'' and 9/16

I WIN I WIN I WIN I WIN.

*triumphant*

[edit] You see this is a complex issue. For my whole life I've wanted to be on the same level as Ruth and Kristy and knowing that I'm actually taller than them makes me feel like I am on the same level as them. I was always bothered by the fact that I was little and I could never do the same things as them, but I am no longer little. Also, this morning in the haze of "meh? Oh.. I should get up." I thought about how next year is my last year at home. That fact is scary because in so many ways I still feel like I'm twelve years old. It was like I reached twelve and stayed there without realizing that time does indeed go by very fast. Well, I still think I'll keep the maturity level of a twelve year old for a while. "YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND?! ARE YOU EVEN KIDDING ME. My word, well THAT'S just RETARDED...." That's usually the reaction I have when I find out my friends have boyfriends. I think they didn't get the memo about staying twelve forever.. =/

See? I told you that this subject was complex.

What's really weird is seeing my friends grow up. I love being at church around Christmas time because you get to see all the old friends coming home from school or wherever for a visit. I saw one particular friend recently. I hadn't seen her in over a year and she got married this summer. She's two years older than me. I was looking at her on Sunday thinking, "She's married.... This is really odd and I can't really wrap my head around it."

*sigh* Although I'm sure that most of my friends won't get married for a while, but wow.. When Mary gets married! Phew.. I think I'll pretty much die. (And just stop laughing about the pun, you guys...)

*goes back to being a twelve year old*

Good, fun time

Allie came over last night to avoid the masses of smelly boys that came for Phil's birthday. Thhe'th mah Alliekinth, and I wuvth her thooooooo much!
We went to the mall first. And Allie exclaimed that she wanted her future man to wear shirts like this.
I said I wanted my future man to wear shirts like this. XD My next choice would have been the gangster mannequin of course.. =P

My favorite quote from the night:

"My man will have to smell like he just skinned a thousand deer."

.... *bursts out laughing*

Or, "Allie must eat the Grinch to save Christmas!!!"

Or, "My cheeks hurt from laughing..."

"My ribs hurt from laughing and I'm sitting on them, so it hurts even more."

"hahaahha!!! How do you sit on your ribs!? *tries to do so* ... *fails* I CAN'T DO IT!!! *bursts out laughing*"

But in all seriousness we got to talk about some stuff that we really NEEDED some clarification on. God really spoke through Allie and some circumstances last night to give me some very much needed clarity about a situation. And I must say, it's wonderful when the Lord works in such ways. All in all, it was quite wonderful. She played some of her songs for me and I just want to keep her locked away under the stairs so I can take her out and listen to her sing whenever I want to. But she said she'll be recording stuff soon, so I don't have to keep her locked under the stairs. ;) Seriously though, the Lord has really blessed her with a gift with lyrics and music. Her lyrics seem to resound with my own heart and I'm super excited for when I can just turn on the stereo and listen to her. But it is quite lovely to listen to her live. :)

For dad

The Ventures were finally inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame today. Oh my word.. They are quite amazing.

Mah Mary....

I hung out with Mary today.
It was an interesting day of driving about and wrapping presents. (btw. HOOTTIEZ!!! lol.) We were at Target getting various things and she got some lotion for her mommy and she wanted some lotion. The thing was... I was going to give Mary her Christmas present which was passion fruit body butter (aka YUM. YUM. YUM.). So the conversation went something like this. Mary: Hmmm.. What kind of lotion should I get? Elyse: You shouldn't get any lotion. Mary: * confused* But... I need lotion. Elyse: I think Mary should just SHUT UP and LISTEN TO ELYSE. Mary: *still confused* ... Two minutes later. "Ohhh...." lol.
HOBBES AND ELYSEY!!!! We're pretty tight....
Elysey and Caroliney!!!!!! My beautiful sweet friend that I love soooooo much! I want to have a mini Caroline and carry her around in my purse so I will always have her with me!!!!
Yeah, I know I look like I have mental issues in this picture but it CRACKS ME UP. Elyse has a feathery tree atop her head!! Yay! lol

Ah....

I was just exploring some old pictures and I found these gems from eight years ago!

My first meeting with The Frog.

hahhaha.. My siblings were loving even back in those days. I STILL remember wearing the antlers and being bugged about it AND then! Kristy caught this wonderful picture when I was coming out of the bathroom (back when we had "forest" wall paper.... lol) and she said something like, "A deer frolicking out from the forest into unknown territory."

Yeah. That's how we roll in this household. =P

The Gospel Plans

And now the LORD says—
he who formed me in the womb to be his servant
to bring Jacob back to him
and gather Israel to himself,
for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD
and my God has been my strength-

he says:
"It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
to restore the tribes of Jacob
and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth."

-Isaiah 49:5-6

Ah...

Well, today I hung out with some old friends and I made a couple new ones. We sang a lot of Christmas carols. I think the Three Kings rendition was definitely the best. ;) Singing in dissonance is always more fun anyway. AND I found out that I have several LURKERS among my friends WHO SHOULD JUST COMMENT AND GET OUT OF ANONYMITY. =P

AND Satan *cough* I mean Santa came through our neighborhood tonight. It's so great though. The local firefighters do this whole parade type thing and bring it through all the neighborhoods around here and give out candy canes. I waved at him from my room. :)

Best movie EVER!!!!!!!!!!

I was very surprised by The Importance of Being Earnest. I liked it so much that I would watch it again, right now.

I thought it would just be another Jane Austen type movie, but no... It was quite wonderful. Invoking much humor and other wonderful things.

It receives the Elyse stamp of approval.

Oh wow...

I just had the best phone conversation that I will probably ever have. EV-AR. So I was calling Amelia to explain why I was not chatting with her because of the keyboard being stupid and stuff. So I was dialing the number and ring, ring whatever.. And then this guy picks up with a heavy Spanish accent.... So I'm thinking it's totally George being retarded, right?

"Hi, this is Elyse... Is Amelia there?"

"Amelio? No.. There is no Amelio here."

"AmeliAH. Umm.. How about you hand the phone to her?"

"hahha. Umm.. I think you have the wrong number."

"Come ON George, hand the phone to her!!"

Then he said something in Spanish. "Do you know Spanish?"

"hahha.. Umm. No. HAND THE PHONE TO AMELIA."

By this time the thought begins to dawn on me that it might not actually be George...

"Well, I think you have the wrong number."

"Well, ok. I'll try again."

Then I got off the phone and explained it to mom and we almost both died laughing. OH MY WORD.

It was like the best prank ever and I couldn't have done it in real life. Poor guy.. lol. I was seriously like, "GEORGE. HAND THE PHONE TO AMELIA!!!"

hahahhaha.. Anyway. I'm not sure George would think of that.

A first timer....

Well guys... I have now been officially introduced to the world of inconsiderate drivers. Now some might consider me to be inconsiderate, after all they have to be at their destination at a certain time and if I am blocking their path and because of my speed they might find me to be inconsiderate of their needs.

But, I would like to state that there are STILL speed laws in our country and yes, they should actually be followed. I am not perfect in my driving, no one is... But seriously...

So I was coming home from school today and the speed limit over the old bridge is 45 because they are still doing construction on there. Do you think people actually go 45? That's right. They don't. So anyway, one girl passed me without any mean stares or anything, but then this 20-some year old guy was stuck behind me. So he was pretty much not happy with me, but he was on his cell phone, probably complaining about the girl in front of him that had the AUDACITY to go the speed limit!!! That's reasonable I suppose, if you don't care about those little signs that tell you the MAXIMUM speed you can go. Anyway, we got off the bridge and he honked at me. Then he got off the freeway and I looked over because he accelerated (as if to show me how fast I should be going) and then he flipped me off. I was pretty much entertained by this fact, I was not mad and if he had been going the speed limit OR if he left EARLY then he would not have been mad. But as I was dealing with my attitude about the incident I remembered James 1:19-20. My anger does not bring about the righteousness of God, my anger just usually gets me in trouble.

I ask you, my readers, to consider those who you consider to be inconsiderate. If you are impatient because someone is going slow just ask yourself if tailgating, honking your horn, or flipping them off will ACTUALLY make them go faster! Or if it will just make them mad.

Thank you, considerate American drivers.

Please pray for Bella. She had surgery early this morning on her ears. Pray for a quick recovery.

Ah..

I love learning.

So far in chemistry I've already known everything, but this chapter was about nuclear reactions!!!! So now I have a small understanding of how that all works.

I love learning new things. So, I think the two science related things that I love thus far are nuclear reactions and genetics.

It's a winter wonderland!

Happy first day of December!!

And it's snowing and sticking! Big huge flakes...
