I hope all of you are having a good last day of 2006.
What has God done in the past year in your life? I'll probably post about what He's done in mine tomorrow.
But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. -Psalm 131:2

This is the day the Lord has made....
"Let us rejoice and be glad in it." It's pretty easy to say that today, but what about hard days? I wasn't really glad when I broke my ankle or when I left HCC's youth group. But now looking back on those "days" I am glad for them now, I am glad I went through those cruddy times. It's taught me so much about God and my life. So I wasn't glad in that day of sadness but I rejoiced in the fact that God is good and all He does is good.
Today I got to hang out with an awesome sister in the Lord and talk about pretty much everything, including llamas and monkey genocide. LOL. Anyway, I got to hang out at Curley's house today for about 4 hours. We watched His Girl Friday and the rest of the time we just talked.... We talked about what God has been doing in our lives, not just recently but in past years and before our time. I rejoice that I was able to fellowship with her today. I think it was pretty much impossible to get in bad mood after talking about positive things for a couple hours, especially with Curley, she is so uplifting and spirit-filled. We talked about Bible passages we have been really impacted with. It was also nice to talk to someone who like me, doesn't really like to boy talk all the time. Talking about what we talked about today was so much more uplifting than boy talk, oh my word.
It's really amazing how God works, some of the things we have learned went together. Some things we have/are going through are similar so we could "comfort with the comfort we have been given". It was pretty awesome.
Today has been pretty long though. I took the DOL written test and passed (I got two wrong, I was freaking out. "WHAT IF I GET 4 MORE??? *DIESSSSSSSS!!!!*" Except not really, I wasn't freaking out that bad. *laugh*). Then Dad and I went to the college to um... Do errands I guess. I got my student ID, parking pass and my math solutions manual. We also walked around campus, I didn't think it would actually look like a college campus. I had only been to the campus located in my town which is like one building but the main campus has like 28 buildings or something like that. OK, now I'm getting slightly more excited for college. :)
Anyway, now my head is aching. I'm hoping the decongestants and Ibuprofen kick in soon.
Oh and I got this camera yesterday, I had to remember how to spell "hundred." My thoughts: "hon... hun.... hondred... hundred. That's it." ROTFL. I haven't spelled hundred since I was wee and I've never written a check for that big, so there's my excuse.
Aaaaaaand I'm sleeping in tomorrow, that's my word. Laters!

Moving on...
I picked up my books at the college today, now it's definitely setting in, I'm starting college in 5 days. Mary was there so after I picked up my books I drove over to her house and got my present from her. I got to talk to her and Caroline for a while, so that was nice.
Agh.... This is a little scary. I have to go to the DOL to take the written test tomorrow. I'm going to be so busy once school starts, I think I might die or some similar fate. I'll still be going to co-op until May. So my total classes will be Math, English, Chem, Study skills and teen leadership.
Any advice?

Paparazzi!
Diesel has been using the tree as his own personal play thing, he's also been playing with this (Chato "gave" it to him, oh and she "gave" me ear bud covers because she ate mine when she was little. *laugh*) the "kitten mitten" has bells and catnip it in. Diesel has only tried to climb to the third branch level, it's really funny to see the tree shaking.

I feel a sneeze coming on...
I've been thinking about posting some deeper thoughts than pugs or Bust a Move. I have some subjects I want to address, we'll see if I get to any of them. After the second of January I'll be busy doing other things, like college. But I do want to write about some subjects, I like writing on stuff like integrity, etc.
Anyway, I'll be glad when I'm back in school. I've been kind of listlessly wandering around the house. I like having a schedule and homework and a challenge.

So pugly he's cute!
This is Mory, my neighbor Jan bought him about a week ago. So while the power was out we took her warm soup and hot water, possibly with motives other than helping a neighbor out.... ;)
Katie (the lab) decided to sit on my lap, I guess she's craving attention. I was covered with dog hair. LOL. Oh and Mory was biting an elastic waistband thingy on my coat, everything is a toy to him I guess. In one picture her pulled it out like 6 inches. Oh man, he was everywhere... SO hyper!
Yeah, Kristy you ARE drooling!

POWER!!!!
MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Pen Light linemen for staying up for 72 hours and restoring our power! There are still people without power about 6000, but that's really good since on Friday there were 29,000 houses without power. That's only for Pen Light, along with the other company there were a million people without lights. People in Oregon and Canada were also affected by this crazy storm. The winds were sooooo scary, I heard there were about 75 mph around our area. There were tons of trees down, along with power lines. We had a tree fall in our back yard, a tree fell on my friend's house! Fortunately it only hit the garage and they were able to get it off on Saturday. I think about 6 people died.
Kristy's power never went out. *glare*
It's been an interesting 4 days. I like having the power out because all of my family unplugs and stays in the same room for entertainment. I played cards with everyone except Juano, he was being lame. But I beat Dad in Uno *snicker* and he beat me in rummy. Grandma stayed with us, so Gizmo (her fat Pomeranian) was chasing Diesel around.
Hearing the wind reminded me of God's power. When I was in bed on Thursday night sometimes I couldn't tell if the house was shaking or if it was just my heart beating hard. It was KEY-RAZY. God's power is crazy huge and scary, but He uses it for our good to teach us.
Did any of you affected by the storm lose power?

Addicting
These and this should be outlawed. When you play Bust a Move for a while you feel like your eyes are going to fall out, you really know you should stop buuuuut it's SO addictive!
And those peppermint things are um.... Too bad, yet sooooo good.
Oh and Heroes is also very addicting. I'm on the second episode but the blasted power keeps going out! Grrh.... Hopefully I'll finish it tonight.

Update
We picked Diesel up about 3 hours ago, he's doing fine. He's sleepy but he's basically the usual crazy Diesel. He'll be staying in for a couple of days though.
I asked the Vet people if a dog that was run over had come in, they said yes. The dog will be fine, he had some head abrasions and I think they said he broke a bone. The lady was looking at me like I was some sort of animal abuser, like "How could I leave the dog all alone?" I forgot to mention that the guy that hit the dog was walking back to the dog. I mean, what do you do in that situation? Sometimes it's just not safe, I'm not even talking about today, like if you are on a dark road and you hit a dog. You don't exactly know what creepy person is running about in the dark. Anyway, I'm glad God answered my prayers and that I found out the dog was OK.
I just finished watching Joan of Arc, with Ingrid Bergman as Joan. The thing about Ingrid that I've noticed is that (from what I've seen) she was never in movies that portrayed her as like Marylin Monroe (like in Some like it Hot), she played deep characters not blonds that were absolutely obsessed with men. I also like Julie Andrews (!!!!!), Grace Kelly, Ginger Rogers, Debbie Reynolds and even though Audry Hepburn is like Monroe except she's not blond I still adore her, because she was fabulous. All those actresses had spunk, Monroe was um.... Not really a virtuous character in her movies. Back to Joan of Arc, I liked it. But it is an epic, so you can't really watch too many of those in a row. I hate, hate, hate how in the movie they called it the "Church" but it was just soooo corrupt, but it is a true depiction (for the most part). It makes me sad that the Church became that to so many people.
Wow that was random.
Here's another random thing, I was looking at some pics from a camping trip I took a couple of years ago. Oh my word. It was absolutely beautiful, God's wonderful creation showing off its stuff. And boy, it has stuff to show off. You all should come to the North West if you can, it's absolutely gorgeous. It puts me in awe..... Just look around. God is giving you wonderful signs of His intimate love for us, His great love and yet so intimate.....
Surgery
is not fun, by any stretch of the imagination. But it is necessary. Diesel has most likely had his surgery, we'll be picking him up between 3 and 4. If you would, pray for quick recovery for him.
Speaking of sad pet things (Diesel needed to be fixed though, but I still miss him that's why it's sad) when we were coming home and we were by the Spit I saw a big dog get run over! I felt like I had hit him and he couldn't get up. He might have had internal injuries and he most likely broke his leg. The man that hit him walked back to the dog, but really what can you do in that situation? There is a vet near by, hopefully the man took the dog there. I know that it was just a dog, but it was someones dog and I hate seeing anything die. I almost cried. I hope I never hit anything, I will be overwhelmed with guilt.
Last night was interesting, long and interesting. Diesel had to stay inside the house so he was complaining about being locked up and then he "relieved" himself on the blanket that was supposed to be his bed. Ugh. Anyway... He'll most likely be staying in tonight, I wouldn't want a groggy kitten to fend for himself outside.
OH! I saw adorable baby animals!!!! I went to Pets and Pals and I think my favorites were a white dog that had huge ears and some tiny kittens. But there were also 4 mini Schnauzers and they were SOOOOO cute too.

RANDOM!
Oh man the latest Strong Bad email is pretty funny. And um.... I'm thinking of doing some-a-blog template-switch'n pretty soon, I know, I know. You all are thinking, "What is she talking about? She changes her template like, ALL THE TIME." But this will be a wee bit different, we'll see.... If it happens it will reflect what God has been doing in my life (He will always be Jehovah Jireh, but He's showing me other BIG things about Him).
Anyway! Christmas break time soon! Wooooo....

Friday and Saturday
On Friday I had Betsy and Allie over, I had invited more girls but they all had other things they needed to do. Even though we missed them terribly we still had bunches of fun. We played Sticky Situations and that brought on some deep discusion, we ate food (yes!), watched Bride and Prejudice (unfortunately we didn't get to finish it) and played with the Chats. Chato totally stole the show, Diesel was scared out of his mind so he wasn't his normal self. I must say, dogs are much more friendly than cats and I do over all like them a bit more. I still like Diesel though! =) Chato is adorable, we were making her jump and she can jump really high, she's a cutie. Bella hung out with us too, so that was cool.
Kristy put Rob's (my brother-in-law) hat on me, all I needed was hoops! I had the side pony tail (I don't wear my hair like that!) and the sideways hat, I looked street-wise. Or so I thought, Rhonda (Rob's sister) said I looked like I was Irish. Not surprising because I am partially Irish, mostly Swedish though.
You may be wondering, why were all these people at my house? Well this last pictures and the following picture were taken today, we had Max's 9th birthday party here!
What makes a little boy who likes computer games happy? A game crazy gift card, courtesy of Juano (John) who is a big game nerd himself.
His expression makes me laugh, it reminds me when I was trying to help him get one of his toys out of the packaging and I cut all the way around because he was being impatient and I felt like bugging him, he grabbed it and the toy (magnets, those "crickets" or "clacker" things) flew across the kitchen and into the sink. He glared at me, it was pretty funny.
Happy Max. He's so cute.
Whooooosh!
That was yesterday and today, we still have tomorrow! Whew, busy.

Promised Pictures
He's a cute dog, he used to be even cuter... When he had all of his hair! You should have seen him when he was a puppy, not that I remember I was like 1 and a half when we got him.
This picture is funny, there was another picture and we both looked really weird. I looked like I had some parasite (like in that episode of the Next Generation) in me and Boomer was looking down. You can kind of see the lining in his coat in this picture, his collar is made of the white stuff too.
Diesel, laying under the tree, "What is that light? Can't you see I'm sleeping?" But he was only curious enough to open one eye.
He got over the annoying flash and fell back asleep.
BTW these posts made me laugh.

Friends
I've heard people say that friends are few and far between.
Are they really?
I can't really agree with that, although when I was younger I wished for a best friend, the friends that I had ended up either moving or causing drama and a lot of pain but I did have friends. I have lots of friends now, some are closer than others but I think it's always been pretty easy for me to make friends but I need to work on keeping them as my friends. I've been so blessed with my friends, especially now, I have a great group of girls that all love the Lord and I can laugh with them, I have guy friends that are mature (most of them) and are respectful AND they are fun to be around.
I suppose that it'll all change once I start going to college, I won't be seeing a lot of these people anymore. But I think the Lord will continue to bless me in my relationships.
I'm wondering if someday that I will agree with that statement, I hope not. What do you guys think? Do you agree with the "friends are few..." statement?

I'd just like to say... Wait, I've already used this title. Oh well.
Happy birthday Betsy and Molly!!!!!! I hope you both have had a most wonderful birthday!
We got some girls together to sing to them at lunch today, we sang very loudly and I'm sure we embarrassed them.
Oh and someone else I know also had a birthday. I hope that he had a good day as well.

"Sunday bloody Sunday....."
So yesterday I made myself a hat! Yes, those of you who know me are in shock. But it happened, it is bright green with big polka dots. Mom made Boomer a new coat (he doesn't have much fur left, so he needs a coat in this cold weather) it's double sided. The inside is like bur bur (but don't believe me I'm not sure that's what it's called) and the outside is like my hat, I felt slightly ridiculous walking the dog when some women drove by and laughed and smiled.
Today was communion Sunday, so what happened to me? I spilled the juice on myself. *laughs* Yeah, it was awesome. That happens to be the 2nd time in my life that I've spilled communion juice on myself, the first time was my first communion. I was 9 and I spilled it all over my skirt....
*snicker*
Go ahead and laugh, it's funny.
I bought two presents for people yesterday, one for Kristy and one for Bella. I know Bella will like what I got her but I'm not too sure if Kristy will like what I bought her, oh well I like it and I think it's funny.
I must go parade myself and Boomer in front of Grandma. I can't believe I match my dog..... Pictures to come. :)

Preperation for Christmas Time...
The tree!
Diesel really didn't like the ornaments at first but now he views them as toys... He attacks the tree. Oh and Boomer was chewing on the light's wire because it was wrapped around his foot, so I let him lose. That dog...
Last picture: One thing I've learned in my life is that when my Dad is taking a picture you need to turn and look at him, otherwise the picture will come out really weird. Anyway that was me hanging ornaments on the lower levels of the tree.

Random news
Yesterday I went to the doctor to talk about a bump on my wrist, it's not quite as disturbing as this guys wrist or my ankle but it's still like, "Um.... You have a tumor on your wrist" type of disturbing. The doctor (a new guy, but I like him. He's nice and I think he's a bit better doctor than the last one) said I have a Ganglionic Cyst. It is, according to e medicine:
Something that made me laugh is that they call this cyst a "Bible cyst" and a method to get rid of them is called the "Bible therapy".... Haha... But my doctor said that was dumb because you could potentially fracture your wrist.
The community college counselor called and said I got all my classes (I forgot to mention it to Kristy when I talked to her), so that's good. Now I have to let the Sparks director know that I won't be able to help anymore. I am NOT looking forward to telling her that, she wasn't happy when I left last year for driver's ed.
I went to the dentist today and had a cavity filled, joy joy. Our family has known the dentist for a long time, like his wife came to my baby shower and we went to the same church as them.
I'm reading Captivating. Oh my word. This book is awesome, that's all I will say for now.
Ganglia (for those of you who don't know and didn't click on the link in the quote) are just a part of the nervous system, they are nerve centers. Anyway, the options are: 1 to have surgery. I said, "Um.... I've already had surgery this year and I'd rather not do it again unless I really need too." or 2 have the doctor remove as much fluid as possible and inject steroids to shrink the growth. But since you can't really see the bump unless I bend my wrist and it doesn't hurt too much I don't feel that it's really a pressing need. If it gets to be a hassle then I will have to deal with it. For now there are too many other things going on in my life to be concerned with a non-life threatening bump. Oh and for those of you who want to know what it looks like, it looks something like this. Except mine only looks like that when I bend my wrist all the way forward and it's still smaller than that.A ganglion cyst is a tumor or swelling on top of a joint or the covering of a tendon (tissue that connects muscle to bone). It looks like a sac of liquid (cyst). Inside the cyst is a thick, sticky, clear, colorless, jellylike material. Depending on the size, cysts may feel firm or spongy.
